Stefania Garetto is an Associate Professor of Economics at Boston University, a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economics Research (NBER), and a Research Fellow at the Center for Economic Analysis and Policy (CEPR). Her research focuses on international trade, and in particular on the economics of multinational firms. In her papers, Garetto has studied the welfare gains from multinational production and international pricing; the relationship between firms’ international activities, their risk exposure, and asset prices; and the role of global banks in the international transmission of shocks. Her research has been published in the Quarterly Journal of Economics, the American Economic Journal: Macroeconomics, and the Journal of International Economics.
