
Stefano Micossi is Advisor on strategies and policies, Assonime, a business association and think tank in Rome and Visiting Fellow at European University Institute; he was formerly Director General in Assonime (1999-2022) and a Director General in the European Commission (1995-99), director of economic research in Confindustria (1988-94) and an economist in the Research Department of the Bank of Italy (1973-88), where he rose to the rank of Director of International research; in 2016 he was appointed Honorary Professor at the College of Europe, after teaching there as visiting professor for almost twenty years
