Stephen Maurer

Stephen M Maurer is Adjunct Associate Professor of Public Policy and Law at the University of California, Berkeley. He holds a B.A. degree from Yale University and a J.D. in law from Harvard University. Maurer’s research interests focus on innovation incentives, open source production, the New Economy, and terrorism policy. He has written extensively on database policy, academic/industry relations, patent law, antitrust, and open source biology. His research has appeared in numerous journals including Nature, Science, and Economica. He is also editor and lead author of WMD Terrorism: Science and Policy Choices (MIT 2009).
