Tao Li is Bank of America Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of Florida’s Warrington College of Business. He was previously a faculty member at the University of Warwick. Tao’s research focuses on corporate governance, fintech, and financial institutions. He has a PhD in Economics and a Master’s in Statistics, both from Columbia University. He also holds graduate and undergraduate degrees in Architecture. Prior to joining academia, Tao was a consultant at Deutsche Bank in New York, advising pension funds and other institutional investors on private real estate investment strategies. He has also advised L.E.K. Consulting on corporate governance practices.  Tao is a recipient of the 2019 Aberdeen Standard Investments Best Paper Prize and the 2018 INQUIRE Europe Award. His work has been presented at conferences organized by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, European Commission, National Bureau of Economic Research, Society for Financial Studies, American Finance Association, Western Finance Association, European Finance Association, and Columbia Law School. His research has been mentioned in several media outlets, including New York Times and Financial Times.
