Professor Vig's research interests lie in the area of financial contracting and include: financial intermediation, firm choice of optimal debt structure, corporate governance, and law and finance. His papers have been published in leading journals, including the American Economic Review, the Quarterly Journal of Economics, the Journal of Political Economy, the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Financial Economics and the Review of Financial Studies. He was previously Editor of the Review of Finance and currently serves on the advisory board of that journal. He is also currently an Associate Editor of the Journal of Financial Intermediation.
Vikrant has won several awards for his research and his work has been featured in leading media outlets, including the Economist, the Financial Times, New York Times, the Wall Street Journal. Professor Vig received his PhD from Columbia University; his Master of Finance, MBA, and Master of Science in Engineering from the University of Illinois; and his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Delhi.
