Wilfried Rickels is Professor of the Economics of Negative Emissions Technologies at the Christian-Albrecht University Kiel and directs the Global Commons and Climate Policy Research Group at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy. His primary research interests are the analysis of climate change mitigation with a focus on the role of negative CO2 emission technologies to achieve atmospheric CO2 removal and solar geoengineering and the measurement of sustainable (marine and maritime) development.
