Wolf Heinrich Reuter

Wolf Reuter is the Secretary General of the German Council of Economic Experts since 2018. Between 2016 and 2018, he worked as an economist for macroeconomics at the Council's staff. Prior to this, he was a research economist at the Austrian National Bank (OeNB) and research (and teaching) assistant at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU Vienna) and the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA). He visited international institutions like the European Central Bank or the International Monetary Fund for shorter periods and kept on teaching at several universities like the WU Vienna or the European Business School (EBS). He obtained his doctorate at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (topic: „Measurement, Determinants and Effects of Fiscal Frameworks“) in 2013. His research focuses on fiscal frameworks, European integration, climate policy and international trade.
