Alexander Cappelen

Professor, Department of Economics at Norwegian School of Economics (NHH)

Alexander W. Cappelen is a Professor at the Department of Economics, Norwegian School of Economics (NHH), since 2006, where he finished his doctoral dissertation on Redistribution in a Divided World in 2000. Cappelen’s academic positions at NHH include Co-director of the research group The Choice Lab, and Head of Centre for Ethics and Economics. Since 2013 he is Vice-Chair of the Department of Economics at NHH. Cappelen has been Visiting Researcher at the University of California, Berkeley (2009-2010) the University of Munich (2007) and Harvard University (2005). His research interests are behavioral, experimental and public economics, business ethics, social choice theory, political philosophy and distributive justice. Cappelen has published extensively in leading international journals and acted as referee. He got awarded with several grants from the Research Council of Norway.
