Alexis Akira Toda is an Associate Professor at the Department of Economics, University of California San Diego. He is primarily a theorist but he has broad interests in power law, finance, macro, and numerical methods. He has published papers in journals such as Journal of Political Economy, Journal of Economic Theory, Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Monetary Economics, Quantitative Economics, among others. He is also a medical doctor (anesthesiologist) licensed in Japan.
