Ali Hortaçsu is the Ralph and Mary Otis Isham Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago. He studies the organization of firms and markets, with special emphasis on the role played by strategic behavior and information frictions. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and Fellow of the Econometric Society. He has been a co-editor of the Journal of Political Economy, RAND Journal of Economics, and the International Journal of Industrial Organization.
