Professor Carlo Carraro is President Emeritus and Professor of Environmental Economics at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. He holds a Ph.D. from Princeton University. He was President of the University of Venice from 2009 to 2014 and Director of the Department of Economics from 2005 to 2008. In 2008, he was elected Vice-Chair of the Working Group III and Member of the Bureau of the Nobel Laureate Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). In 2015, he was re-elected Vice-Chair of the Working Group III and Member of the Bureau of the IPCC for a second term. He has been working as IPCC Lead Author since 1995. He is also Chair of the Executive Board of the European Institute on Economics and the Environment (EIEE), President of the Italian National Committee on Climate Change Impacts on Infrastructures and Mobility established by the Italian Minister of Transports and Infrastructures, and he is a member of EU-DG ECFIN High Level Advisory Group in Brussels.
