Cathy Pharoah

Cathy Pharoah is Professor of Charity Funding at the Sir John Cass Business School, City University, London, and Co-Director of the ESRC Centre for Charitable Giving and Philanthopy. She has been a leading source of quantitative data on trends in private giving to UK charities for several years. Research interests include giving and philanthropy by individuals, foundations and companies, charitable tax reliefs, trends in the resourcing of the third sector, social enterprise, and relationships between the third, private and public sector funding. She was previously Director of Research at Charities Aid Foundation (CAF), working at the interface between academic and practice-based research. She is on the editorial board of the International Journal of Non-Profit and Voluntary Sector Marketing.
