Chris Lowenstein

Chris Lowenstein is a PhD student in Health Economics at the University of California, Berkeley School of Public Health. His research examines the role of social safety-net and labor market policies on the health and wellbeing of children and low-income working families. Current projects include an examination of high-risk prescription opioids and labor market outcomes, effects of minimum wages on suicide, drug overdose, and alcohol-related illness, and the health effects of unpredictable and unstable work schedules. He received his MPH in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from UC Berkeley and is a former Research Associate at the Urban Institute in Washington, DC.
