Dennis Essers is an Economist in the National Bank of Belgium’s Research Department and affiliated with the Institute of Development Policy of the University of Antwerp. His main fields of research are international and development economics, on which he has published widely in academic journals and policy-oriented outlets. His recent research has focused on emerging markets, sovereign debt and trade. Dennis received his PhD in Applied Economics from the University of Antwerp and holds a Master’s degree in International Development from the University of Manchester.
