Ekaterina Vostroknutova

Senior Economist in the East Asia and Pacific Poverty Reduction and Economic Management unit at The World Bank

Ekaterina Vostroknutova is Senior Economist in the East Asia and Pacific Poverty Reduction and Economic Management unit at the World Bank. Since joining the Bank in 2003, she contributed to the World Development Report 2005 A Better Investment Climate for Everyone, and to several other analytical products concerned with macroeconomic policy in developing countries. Ekaterina has just came back from WB’s field office in Vientiane where she spent three years as a country economist for Laos and gained first-hand experience about development in low income countries. Her current work focuses on regional macroeconomic issues in East Asia and Pacific, natural resource economics, industrial policy, and innovation. Ekaterina holds a PhD in Economics from the European University Institute in Florence, Italy, where she specialised in stabilisation programs during economic transitions and in time series econometrics.
