Esther Hauk

Esther Hauk is a Scientific Researcher at the Institute of Economic Analysis, Barcelona. Formerly, she was an Associate Professor at Universitat Pompeu Fabra. She has worked in a wide range of topics: equilibrium refinements, experimental economics, industrial organisation, public procurement, mechanism design, corruption and the cultural transmission of preferences. Her most recent work is mainly in political economy where she has looked at different conflict situations. She has studied the relationship of the quality of political institutions and the resource curse, third party interventions in civil wars, nationalism and the clash of civilizations. She has published in the Journal of Economic Theory, the Economic Journal, the Journal of Management and Economic Strategy and the Journal of Conflict Resolution among others. She holds a BA in Philosophy and Economics from University College London and a PhD in Economics from the European University Institute, Florence. Recently, she has spent two years as a visitor at the London School of Economics.
