Francesca de Nicola is a Senior Economist in the Office of the Chief Economist for East Asia and the Pacific at the World Bank where she conducts research on productivity and innovation. Francesca has been involved in various operational assignments on private sector and financial market development, since joining the World Bank as a Young Professional. She started her career at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), doing research on issues related to weather insurance. She holds a PhD in Economics from the Johns Hopkins University and has published in top field journals such as Journal of Development Economics, Quantitative Economics and Energy Economics.
