Giovanni Facchini

Giovanni Facchini is a Professor of Economics at the University of Nottingham, having taught previously at Erasmus University in Rotterdam, the University of Essex, the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, the University of Milan and Stanford. His research has focused on three main themes: international trade, international migration and and more recently on the economics of race and gender. He has published in journals such as the American Economic Journal: Economic Policy, the American Economic Journal: Microeconomics, Economic Journal, Economic Policy, the Economic Journal, the Journal of the European Economic Association, the Journal of International Economics, the Journal of Political Economy, the Journal of Public Economics and the Review of Economics and Statistics, among others. Giovanni is a CEPR Research Fellow, a Fellow of CES-Ifo and IZA, and a Faculty Affiliate at the Institute for Government and Public Affairs at the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign. He is the Director of the Nottingham Centre for Globalisation and Economic Policy (GEP). He obtained a PhD in Economics from Stanford University in 2001.
