Janis Berzins

Janis Berzins is a financial economist with interests are in Corporate Governance, Corporate Finance, and Portfolio Management. His latest work examined corporate finance and governance issues of family firms. He is working on projects that examine issues such as inheritance issues of family firms, the resolution of agency issues in private firms via dividend policy, the link between individual liquidity needs and activities in firms owned by these individuals, shocks generated by wealth tax changes, and resilience of family firms in response to COVID19 pandemic. Dr Berzins has worked at BI Norwegian Business School since 2006 after graduating from Indiana University. Dr. Berzins has published in leading finance journals.
