José-Víctor Ríos-Rull

Professor Ríos-Rull is a Fellow of the Econometric Society, an Associate Editor of SERIEs, and an NBER Research Associate. Professor Ríos-Rull received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Minnesota in 1990. He has previously held positions at Carnegie Mellon University, the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, and the University of Minnesota. Ríos-Rull is an influential scholar whose work is shaping the fields of macroeconomics as it informs discourse on economic policy in the U.S. and other high-income economies. His research builds quantitative macroeconomic models with heterogeneous households and applies them to questions about international capital flows, bankruptcy, asset prices, and demand-driven business cycle fluctuations. He is also concerned about the interrelations between demographics and macroeconomics
