Julieta Caunedo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at Cornell University. She is an associated researcher at CEPR, J-PAL, Y-RISE and ATAI. She is also a theme leader for STEG, a research initiative funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office that aims to provide a better understanding of structural change, productivity and growth in low- and middle-income countries. Professor Caunedo studies macroeconomics and development with emphasis on the impact of technology for productivity and the labor market. Her work has been published in general interest journals including the Quarterly Journal of Economics and European Economic Review. She was on leave from Cornell from 2021 -2022, whilst she held an assistant professor position at the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. A native of Argentina, she worked for international organizations including the IADB and the IMF prior to completing her PhD in Economics at Washington University in St. Louis.
