Dr. Kathleen Cleeren (1978) works as a Post-doctoral Researcher at the Department of Marketing. She holds MSc’s in Commercial Engineering (Hasselt University) and Quantitative Analysis in Social Sciences (Catholic University Brussels). In 2007, she defended her PhD in Marketing at the Catholic University Leuven under the supervision of Marnik Dekimpe and Frank Verboven. Her research focuses on using empirical-entry models to examine the competitive structure in local service sectors such as the video-rental and the grocery industry. In addition, she works in the area of product-harm crises. She has published in the International Journal of Research in Marketing and the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science.
