Mariarosaria Comunale is a Principal Economist in the Applied Macroeconomic Research Division, Economics Department at the Bank of Lithuania, Research Fellow at Vilnius University and Research Associate at the Centre for Applied Macroeconomic Analysis, Australian National University. She holds a Ph.D. in Money and Finance from the University of Rome Tor Vergata. Previously, she worked at the Italian Trade Agency, was a Blue Book trainee at the EU Commission and spent a period as visiting PhD student/researcher at the University of Cambridge, Trinity College Dublin, ECB, and De Nederlandsche Bank. Recently she was visiting the Oesterreichische Nationalbank within the ESCB Schuman Programme and was Economist in the DG International & European Relations at the ECB. She has published her works in the Journal of International Money and Finance, Scottish Journal of Political Economy, Economic Systems, and International Journal of Finance and Economics, among others. Comunale’s main areas of research pertain to International Macroeconomics and Trade, for analysis on EU integration, growth, macroeconomic imbalances, financial cycles, and Exchange Rate Pass-Through.
