Matthieu Teachout is the Research Director at the IGC London Hub. He was previously the Research Programme Advisor since July 2019, where he guided the development of the four new Evidence Papers and the Research Strategy. His fields of research are in development economics and industrial organisation. Matthieu did his PhD at Columbia. His co-authored paper on exporter quality upgrading won the Oliver Williamson Award last year and is R&R at JPE. He has worked with the IGC Myanmar team as a PI on an IGC research project focusing on the Thilawa SEZ. He has also been a short term consultant for the World Bank, the head of the financial engineering department of a state-owned guarantee fund in Senegal, and managed a large campaigning initiative for En March! during France’s 2017 elections.
