Maximilian Freier currently is Secretary of the European Central Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee. He has held several positions as an economist in the ECB’s Directorates General Economics, Monetary Policy as well as International and European Relations. Maximilian obtained a PhD from the London School of Economics and Political Science as well as master's level degrees in both Economics and in Political Science from the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. Maximilian has broad research interests in fiscal and monetary policy, European integration and governance, comparative political economy as well as applied machine learning techniques.
