Dr. Meredith M. Paker is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Grinnell College. She holds a Ph.D. and M.Phil in Economic History from the University of Oxford (Nuffield College) and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Georgia. Her research at the intersection of economic history and labor economics focuses on unemployment, wages, structural change, and inequality in Britain. Her work has been published in the Journal of Economic History, the Economic History Review, Explorations in Economic History, and the European Review of Economic History, among others. Prior to joining Grinnell in 2022, she was an economist at the US Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA).
