Mustapha Douch is an Associate Professor in Economics at Edinburgh University Business School. He has a PhD in Economics, covering mainly firm-level empirical research. Since completing his PhD he has worked as an Assistant Professor in Economics at Richmond The American University in London, a Research Fellow in Economics at Aston University, Assistant Professor at The University of Edinburgh, in such position extensive research has been carried out using HMRC transaction data and Office of National Statistics databases to provide evidence on the dynamics affecting the UK firms –i.e. uncertainties, productivity issues, intermittent exporting and non-tariff barriers, etc. He has published in journals such as the Journal of Applied Econometrics, the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, World Development, British Journal of Management. He has been a consultant for UNU-WIDER - United Nations University in collaboration with South Africa’s National Treasury to investigate the impact of uncertainties on trading firms. He holds a Visiting Principal Economist position at the Bank of Lithuania and the Bank of Estonia.
