Nikolaj Broberg is a Research Associate at the Migration Policy Centre at the European University Institute (RSCAS, EUI) where he works on the impact of changing migration narratives on public attitudes to migration (E-MINDFUL) and the linkages between institutions and the role of migrant labour in keeping essential services resilient (Mig-Res-Hub). Nikolaj expects to defend his PhD in Economics from the European University Institute in May 2022. His primary research interests are political economy, migration, and public economics. His thesis studies the impact of election rules on electoral results and local level spending, the effects of partisan alignment on the allocation of EU transfers, and the effects of migration on local level redistribution.
