Olmo Silva is a Lecturer at the Department of Geography and Environment at the London School of Economics (LSE). He is also a Research Associate at the Spatial Economics Research Centre (LSE) and at the Centre for Economic Performance (LSE), where he worked as a full-time Research Officer between September 2004 and August 2007. He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in 2006. His research mainly concentrates on the economics of education and urban economics. His areas of expertise also include: real estate economics; entrepreneurship; and the micro-determinants of growth. Olmo received his BSc and MSc in Economics from Bocconi University, Milan, and earned his Ph.D. in Economics at the European University Institute, Florence. He also spent some time visiting University College London as a Marie Curie Visiting Fellow.
