Oscar Fernandez Guerr is a Ph.D. candidate at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU) and a Student Assistant at the Institute for Advanced Studies Vienna (IHS) at the Macroeconomics and Business Cycles division. He has also provided consultancy work for the Joint Vienna Institute (JVI). His research interests lie in the field of Macroeconomics, with a special emphasis on understanding the drivers of business cycle fluctuations in emerging and developing economies, and analyzing macroeconomic synchronization dynamics within the European Monetary Union. He is also interested in studying the channels through which the financial sector can incentivize firms to engage in decarbonization strategies. His research has been published in international, peer-reviewed journals such as Energy Economics.
