Philippe Karam

Philippe Karam works at the International Monetary Fund, having previously held mid- and senior level positions at the Arab Monetary Fund, the World Bank, and Canadian Ministry of Finance and Central Bank. Mr. Karam has an extensive experience assessing global, regional, and country-level economic and financial prospects, and advising countries on the design, implementation, and evaluation of macroeconomic policies. He possesses broad knowledge of economic modeling and applied quantitative methods with a wide range of research in monetary policy analysis and forecasting, monetary operations, exchange rate regimes and polices, fiscal policy and rules, sustainability of public finances, and financing and rollover risks; macroeconomic effects of pension reforms; and crisis-related measures in the financial system and sovereign balance sheet risks. Mr. Karam holds a Ph.D. from Queen’s University, Canada.
