Pilar Poncela is Full Professor and, currently, the Head of the department of Economic Analysis: Quantitative Economics at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain. She has an Electrical Engineering Degree from Universidad de Valladolid, Spain, and received her PhD in Economics from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. She has worked at the European Commission, DG Joint Research Centre, in Ispra, Italy, from 2016 to 2019, doing research for policy support and has been Director of the International Institute of Forecasters from 2015 to 2023.
