Richard Payne is Professor of Finance at Cass Business School, City University London. He has previously held academic posts at the London School of Economics, University of Bristol and Warwick Business School, as well as having working in trading roles in the private sector at investment banks and hedge funds. He regularly consults for industry clients and for regulatory and supervisory institutions. He has published in leading academic journals including the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, the Economic Journal, the Journal of International Economics and the Review of Finance.
