Ruixue Jia is an Associate Professor of Economics in the School of Global Policy and Strategy at UC San Diego. Additionally, Ruixue serves as a Co-Director of the China Data Lab, an Executive Secretary at the Association of Comparative Economic Studies (ACES) and Co-Chair for the China Economic Summer Institute (CESI). During the '20-'21 and '21-'22 academic years she was a Visiting Senior Fellow at LSE (on leave from UC San Diego). Dr Jia is interested in the interplay of economics, history and politics. Her recent research focuses on understanding the political economy of idea formation and diffusion, and she has coauthored a forthcoming book on the Chinese education system. She is affiliated with the BREAD, CEPR, CESifo, and NBER, and is an associate editor for AEJ: Economic Policy and Economic Journal.
