Štěpán Jurajda

Mellon Endowment Professor at Center for Economic Research and Graduate Education – Economics Institute

Štěpán Jurajda is the Mellon Endowment Professor with tenure at CERGE-EI, Prague, the joint workplace of the Economics Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences and of Charles University Prague. During 2009-2013 he served as the Director of CERGE-EI. During 1999–2000, he was a Visiting Research Fellow at Princeton University, Department of Economics. Between 2005 and 2010, a member of the Executive Committee of the European Association of Labour Economists. Between 2009 and 2013, Chair of the Economics Panel and of the Social Sciences and Humanities Committee at the Czech Science Foundation. Since 2014, member of the Research, Development and Innovation Council of the Government of the Czech Republic. His recent research includes international comparisons of wage levels, the effect of competitive pressure on gender performance gaps, or the use of names as proxies for political values.
