Tiago Cavalcanti holds a Ph.D. in economics from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a Professor in Economics at the University of Cambridge and is a Fellow of Trinity College at Cambridge. He works on macroeconomics, economic development and climate change. He also holds a visiting position at Sao Paulo Schoo of Economics at Vargas Foundation. He is currently an associate editor for Economic Journal and Economic Theory.
Cavalcanti's teaching and research focuses on macroeconomics, economic growth and economic development. He writes monthly for the Brazilian newspaper Valor Econômico.
