Yasmine van der Straten is a PhD Candidate in Finance at the University of Amsterdam and will join Nova School of Business and Economics as an Assistant Professor of Finance in September 2025.
Her research lies at the intersection of macro-finance, climate finance, and household finance, combining theory and empirics to study how climate risk is priced in financial markets and how financing frictions and price signals shape adaptation, mitigation, and political support for climate policies.
Yasmine is a visiting PhD student at De Nederlandsche Bank and visited Imperial College London in Spring 2024. She holds an MPhil in Economics from Tinbergen Institute, a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a Bachelor in Law from Erasmus University Rotterdam.
