
Yulia Bezvershenko is a Senior Program Officer at the US National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, where she leads efforts on Ukraine and directs the Roundtable on Global Science Diplomacy. A policy expert with extensive experience, she co-authored Ukraine's 2015 Law on Science and Technology and was instrumental in its implementation, including establishing key institutions like the National Research Foundation of Ukraine. She served as Director-General for Science and Innovation at Ukraine’s Ministry of Education and Science (2020–2021) and was a Ukrainian Emerging Leaders Fellow at Stanford University (2021–2022). She is a co-founder of the Science at Risk initiative. Yulia holds a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics from the Bogolyubov Institute for Theoretical Physics (National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine), a Master’s in Public Policy and Governance from the Kyiv School of Economics, and a Master’s in Physics from the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.
