Yundan Gong

Yundan Gong is an Associate Professor in Economics and Innovation at Aston Business School, UK. Before joining Aston in 2008 she worked as a Research Fellow in the Leverhulme Centre for Research on Globalisation and Economic Policy (GEP) and completed her PhD at the Nottingham University Business School. Her main research interests are in firm performance analysis, firm level response to globalisation, innovation and R&D and applied microeconometric analysis, etc.Her work has appeared in journals like Journal of International Economics, Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization, World Bank Economic Review, International Journal of Industrial Organization, Scandinavian Journal of Economics, etc. She also worked for various government projects for NESTA, UKTI, DTI etc.She received the “best paper in International Business and Finance award” at the 40th Academy of International Business - UK and Ireland Chapter conference in 2013, and her paper was nominated to the "best paper award" at the Academy of International Business annual conference in 2015. Yundan successfully worked as a Manager in a Chinese commercial bank before embarking her academic career, where she gained insightful experience on China's economic growth.
