Andrés Fernández Martin

Andrés Fernández is an Economist at the Research Department of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in Washington D.C. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Rutgers University. His research focuses mainly on the macroeconomics of emerging market economies. Namely, the study of the sources of business cycles in emerging economies, including driving forces of financial and real nature, with the use of dynamic stochastic general equilibrium models. His latest research has also incorporated the study of capital controls, monetary policy, the presence of financial and labour market frictions, and the co-movement in the macro dynamics of emerging economies. He has published his research in the American Economic Journal: Macroeconomics, the International Economic Review, the Review of Economic Dynamics, and the Journal of Business and Economic Statistics.
