My research is in the field of development, organizational and personnel economics, with a focus on the two key challenges of every organization: how to recruit the right employees and how to motivate them once on the job.
To study these topics, I design and exploit field experiments that create random variation in the incentive schemes and the recruitment strategies of private and public organizations in developing countries. I also leverage unique payroll and personnel datasets from large private companies in the United States.
