Juan Solé

Member of the Global Financial Stability Division in the Monetary and Capital Markets Department (MCM) at International Monetary Fund

Juan Solé is a member of the Global Financial Stability Division in the Monetary and Capital Markets Department (MCM) of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Prior to joining MCM Dr. Solé was charged with tracking the macro and financial sector developments of several countries in other IMF departments. Prior to joining the IMF, Dr. Solé was an Associate Analyst in the Research Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. He is also a holder of the Islamic Finance Qualification (IFQ) from the Securities and Investment Institute (U.K.), and is a member of the editorial board of the International Journal of Islamic and Middle Eastern Finance and Management. His current work focuses on financial stability issues, monetary and exchange rate policies, and Islamic finance. In addition to his IMF writings, Dr. Solé has published in professional journals such as Economica and the Spanish Economic Review. He holds a Ph.D. and an M.A. in Economics from the University of Minnesota, and an M.Sc. in Economics and Finance from CEMFI (Center for Monetary and Financial Studies, Spain).
