Matteo Cacciatore

Matteo Cacciatore is an Associate Professor at HEC Montreal, a Research Fellow in the International Finance and Macroeconomics Program of the NBER, and the Director of Monetary Policy and Financial Studies at the Bank of Canada. He is also an associate editor at the Journal of Money Credit and Banking. Matteo obtained a Ph.D. in Economics from Boston College in 2010, a Ph.D. in Public Economics in 2008 from University of Pavia, and a Laurea in Economic and Social Sciences from Bocconi University in 2004. He has held visiting positions at the Collegio Carlo Alberto, the International Monetary Fund, and the Kiel Institute for the World Economy. His main areas of research are international macroeconomics, macroeconomics, and monetary economics. He works on the consequences of international trade for the transmission of business cycles and the conduct of macroeconomic policy. A second strand of his research studies the domestic and international effects of goods and labor market regulation.
