Matteo Cervellati is Professor of Economics at the University of Bologna and Research Fellow at IZA Bonn. His research interests include economic development and demography, institutional change, democratisation and conflicts and the economic analysis of moral and religious values. In these fields he has published in journals like the American Economic Review, The Economic Journal and the Journal of Public Economics.
