Piotr Stanek

Piotr Stanek, PhD (hab.) is an Associate Professor at the Department of International Economics at the Cracow University of Economics (CUE). He obtained his doctorate at the University of Lille 1 (France) in 2007, defending his doctoral dissertation on the effectiveness of decision-making in central banks, and habilitation degree at the CUE in 2020 based on the series of publications on the assessment and determinants of debt sustainability and price stability. He has held visiting positions at, e.g., Grand Valley State University, ISEG Lisbon, Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, University Paris 1 – Sorbonne or Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien. His research and publications focus on political economy of decision-making in central banks; on sustainability of public and foreign debt with a special emphasis on the euro area countries or again on international integration of financial markets.
