Selim Elekdag is currently a Deputy Division Chief in Monetary and Capital Markets Department of the IMF. Previously he was an Adviser in the Research and Monetary Policy Department of the Central Bank of Turkey after taking a two year leave from the IMF's Research Department. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from the Johns Hopkins University. His main research interests include monetary policy in emerging economies and modeling the demand for IMF resources, some of which have been published in the Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control and IMF Staff Papers.
