Silvia has been serving at the International Monetary Fund since 2000. Former lead evaluator at the IMF’s Independent Evaluation Office, senior economist at the European Central Bank's DG-Research, economist at De Nederlandsche Bank, and research fellow at the ESRC Macroeconomic Modelling Bureau, her interests and publications focus on topics related to international macro and finance, monetary and fiscal policy. Silvia holds a M.Sc. and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Warwick and a Ph.D. in economics from the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa.
