Simon Voigts

Economist at International Monetary Fund

Simon is an Economist at the IMF’s Research Department. He obtained his Ph.D. from Humboldt University in Berlin and joined the IMF’s Economist Program thereafter. After working on France and Belgium, he joined the Research Department to develop large-scale macroeconomic models, most notably on the impact of climate change mitigation policies. He contributed to climate-change-related chapters in the IMF’s World Economic Outlook and to various country surveillance products. His academic research focuses on fiscal policy, climate change mitigation and output gap estimation.
