Ursel Baumann

Principal Economist, External Developments Division at European Central Bank

Ursel Baumann has been working at the ECB since 2007 and is currently a Principal Economist, co-ordinating the work of the Western Hemisphere group at the External Developments Division. The group analyses the economic developments and conducts macroeconomic projections of the US, Canada and Latin America. Between 2001 and 2007, she worked as an Economist at the Bank of England. Ursel holds a M.Sc. in Public Financial Policy from the London School of Economics and a Diplom in Economics from University of Saarland, Saarbrücken. Her research interests span topics such as monetary policy, macroeconomic modelling and the interaction between real and financial cycles.
