Valerie Vandermeulen

Valerie Vandermeulen obtained a master’s degree in International Economics and holds a PhD in Agricultural Economics. Between 2008 and 2013 she was working as a researcher at Ghent University, focusing on multifunctional agriculture, bio economy, life cycle assessment of agricultural production and the impact of regional and EU policy on agriculture. Since 2013 she has been working for the European Commission on topics including output gap calculation, trend capital stock, and impact of migration and cross-border workers on potential output. She has publications in, amongst others, International Economics and Economic Policy, Sociologia Ruralis and Land Use Policy
